In the aerospace and UAV industry, a poorly routed or improperly shielded cable can lead to catastrophic signal loss or mid-air failure. I am a meticulous Cable Harness Assembler with over two and a half years of experience building complex, shielded wiring networks for tactical drones.
Between 2019 and late 2021, I worked on the production floor of a UAV manufacturing facility. My primary responsibility was fabricating and bundling internal signal and power harnesses. I became highly proficient with manual crimpers, ensuring perfect termination on JST, Molex, and XT60/XT90 connectors. I also specialized in EMI shielding, weaving braided copper screens around sensitive video and GPS lines to protect them from the high RF noise generated by onboard EW systems.
Since early 2022, I have been working as a lead harness builder. I recently redesigned the internal wire routing for a fixed-wing reconnaissance drone's wing cavity. By separating the high-current power loops from the delicate telemetry lines, I eliminated the GPS interference issues we were experiencing and reduced the wing assembly time by 15%. I have personally built over 500 wiring kits with a zero-defect rate.
I hold a diploma in Electrical Equipment Maintenance and have completed advanced training in high-quality soldering and IPC harness standards. I have my own set of precision crimpers and a TS100 soldering station. I am looking for a full-time, on-site role in a climate-controlled assembly facility in Windsor, ON, targeting $52,000 CAD annually.
