Surviving a 20-kilometer ruck march with 35 kilos on your back while navigating hostile terrain requires more than just gym muscles; it requires functional endurance and mental grit. I am a tactical physical conditioning instructor who designs and leads grueling preparation programs for infantry and special operations candidates.
From 2014 to 2018, I worked as a strength and conditioning coach at a commercial fitness center in Fayetteville, focusing on powerlifting and hypertrophy. Realizing that traditional gym routines do not prepare soldiers for the asymmetrical loads of combat, I completely revamped my curriculum. Since early 2019, I have been operating as an independent tactical fitness instructor, contracting with local military units and private security firms.
My programs focus heavily on load-bearing endurance, core stability, and injury prevention. I lead outdoor rucking sessions over varied topography, teaching students how to manage their pace, hydrate effectively, and adjust their gear to prevent chafing and blisters. I also integrate functional obstacle courses that mimic the physical demands of urban breach-and-clear scenarios. I constantly monitor the biomechanics of my trainees, correcting their form under fatigue to ensure they do not develop stress fractures or torn ligaments.
I hold certifications in tactical strength and conditioning, as well as wilderness first aid. I am highly observant of individual fatigue thresholds, adaptable to extreme weather conditions, and deeply committed to the safety and long-term physical health of the personnel I train. I am looking for a full-time, on-site instructor position at a military training facility in Fayetteville, NC, with a target salary of $68,000 USD.
