Before an electronic warfare system is deployed to the front lines, it must survive the brutal reality of our testing protocols. I am an EW Test and Validation Engineer with extensive experience in both anechoic chamber measurements and rugged outdoor field trials.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications from Carleton University in 2016. I started my career as a bench technician at a telecom equipment manufacturer, where I spent two years characterizing RF amplifiers and filtering networks. In 2019, I joined a defense research laboratory in Ottawa as a senior test engineer, focusing on the validation of tactical jamming suites.
My responsibilities span the entire testing lifecycle. In the lab, I use Vector Network Analyzers (VNA) and spectrum analyzers to measure the exact frequency response, output power, and harmonic distortion of our microwave modules. I design custom test jigs and write automated Python scripts to run thousands of thermal cycling tests, ensuring the hardware does not drift out of specification as the temperature fluctuates. In the field, I deploy to remote proving grounds to conduct over-the-air jamming effectiveness trials. I set up the RF instrumentation, coordinate the flight paths of the target drones, and analyze the telemetry logs to verify that the EW system successfully disrupted the drone's control link at the required standoff distance.
I am highly proficient with Keysight and Rohde & Schwarz test equipment, MATLAB for signal processing, and GIS software for RF propagation modeling. I possess a rigorous attention to detail, the physical stamina to haul heavy test gear through mud and snow, and the analytical mindset to isolate intermittent RF faults.
