🏭 **Chief Foundry Technologist (Metallurgy)**
🏢 **About Us:** A powerful metallurgical plant with a rich history and modern equipment is seeking an experienced, highly qualified Chief Technologist to lead our foundry operations. This key leadership role is based directly at our facility in Cleveland, OH.
🔥 **Core Duties:**
• Full control over the technological processes of melting and pouring cast iron and steel into specialized molds.
• Conduct meticulous analysis of the metal's chemical composition, and control modification and deoxidation regimes.
• Design and calculate gating systems, and develop drawings for pattern equipment.
• Analyze root causes of casting defects (gas porosity, cracks, misruns) and implement measures for their complete elimination.
• Develop and update technological instructions, process cards, and other technical documentation for foundry production.
• Control the quality and preparation of molding sands and anti-adhesion coatings.
• Manage foundry floor personnel, conducting safety and occupational health briefings.
🎓 **Requirements:**
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Metallurgy, Foundry Engineering (ferrous/non-ferrous metals), or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Technologist or Chief Technologist in a foundry (cast iron/steel).
• Deep knowledge of the physicochemical processes of melting, crystallization, and metal solidification.
• Proficiency in specialized software for computer simulation of casting processes (e.g., ProCAST, MagmaSoft).
