🏢 **About Us:** A premium confectionery manufacturer in Chicago, IL, is hiring a Route Delivery Driver for our branded refrigerated cargo vans (Mercedes Sprinter / Ford Transit). We deliver cakes, pastries, and cookies to cafes, restaurants, and retail stores. Because our products are highly perishable and fragile, temperature control and smooth driving are critical.
📋 **Core Responsibilities:**
• Loading: Verify box counts and packaging integrity at the bakery dock.
• Route Planning: Build an efficient route for 15-20 stops; drive smoothly to prevent damage to cream-based products.
• Delivery: Unload goods, obtain signatures from store managers, and ensure proper handoff.
• Payment Processing: Use the mobile POS terminal for payments and generate daily Z-reports.
• Fleet Care: Wash the van daily, monitor the reefer unit temperature, and perform basic upkeep.
🎓 **Requirements:**
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
• Experience driving cargo vans or step vans.
• Active Food Handler Certificate / Health Department Card.
• Ability to start shifts early and manage physical unloading.
