🏢 **About Us:** A specialized global logistics provider in Houston, TX, is hiring a Multimodal Freight Coordinator. We design complex, combined supply chain solutions—for example, trucking freight from a US factory to the Port of Houston, shipping it via ocean to Rotterdam, and railing it to a final destination in Germany. Your job is to engineer the most cost-effective and timely routing.
📋 **Core Responsibilities:**
• Route Engineering: Analyze and quote multimodal options (Truck + Ocean, Ocean + Rail, Air + Truck), balancing transit time against freight spend.
• Global Vendor Management: Negotiate rates and terms with overseas agents, drayage carriers, and steamship lines.
• Booking & Execution: Secure space on vessels, coordinate intermodal rail ramps, and dispatch trucks for first and last-mile legs.
• Visibility & Tracking: Monitor cargo across all transit modes, proactively managing delays, transshipment bottlenecks, and customs holds.
• Documentation: Manage complex cross-border paperwork, including CMRs, Ocean Bills of Lading, and international customs declarations.
🎓 **Requirements:**
• 3+ years of experience in freight forwarding, specifically with intermodal and multimodal routing.
• Strong understanding of global shipping lanes, port infrastructure, and rail networks.
• Fluent English and excellent negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple complex shipments simultaneously.
