A general contracting crew in Austin, TX, is hiring Laborers for various urban renovation and new build sites. We handle apartment remodels, commercial tenant improvements, and new construction. The locations change constantly: today you're in a historic downtown building with high ceilings, tomorrow you're in a suburban new-build, next week you're doing a rapid overnight commercial teardown.
📋 **Core Responsibilities:**
• Material Prep: Mixing mortar, plaster, and tile adhesive.
• Material Handling: Supplying bricks, blocks, drywall, and tools to the skilled tradesmen.
• Site Cleanup: Bagging debris, hauling to dumpsters, and keeping the floor clear for the pros.
• Unloading: Manual unloading of lumber, drywall, and cement from delivery trucks.
• Weather Protection: Covering materials with tarps before a storm hits.
• Light Demo: Stripping old wallpaper, pulling tile, and removing drywall partitions.
🎓 **Requirements:**
• High physical stamina: expect to carry cement up 9 flights of stairs without an elevator.
• Punctuality, sobriety, and the ability to take direction from the Site Superintendent.
• Prior construction experience is a plus, but a strong back and a good attitude will get you hired.
