A dedicated fleet maintenance facility for a major regional LTL carrier in Indianapolis, IN, is hiring a Heavy Duty Diesel Technician. We maintain a fleet of 50+ Class 8 tractors (Freightliner, Volvo, Kenworth) running 24/7. Your goal is to get trucks back on the road safely and fast.
📋 **Core Responsibilities:**
• Suspension & Steering: Replacing kingpins, torque rods, air ride bags, and shock absorbers.
• Brakes: Performing DOT-compliant air brake overhauls, replacing cam shafts, slack adjusters, and rotors.
• Pneumatics & Electrical: Troubleshooting ABS modules, replacing air valves, and fixing wiring harnesses.
• PM & Pre-Trip: Comprehensive DOT inspections, fluid top-offs, and catching minor leaks before they become roadside failures.
🎓 **Requirements:**
• 2+ years of heavy truck repair experience (Class 8 preferred).
• Honest defect reporting: You find the root cause, not just throw parts at a symptom.
• Ability to work alongside drivers who are always on a tight HOS clock.
