For entry metal doors, I separately check and improve door insulation and perimeter sealing—in winter, heat loss through door frame gaps is the primary issue in apartments. For sliding barn door systems, I select tracks rated for the door slab weight to prevent mechanism binding or loosening after months of use.
My tools include laser levels for vertical and horizontal control, routers for hinge and lock mortising, power drills, and expanding foam of various densities depending on joint width. I cut frames and trim pieces to match opening dimensions on-site, so I can handle non-standard openings after renovations.
